How to Configure Xtream Codes Login in an IPTV App

Configuration guide · 3 minutes

This guide shows you how to log in to an IPTV app using Xtream Codes credentials in about 3 minutes — a username, password, and server URL rather than a single playlist link.

Before you start

  • An IPTV player app already installed
  • Your Xtream Codes username, password, and server URL (sometimes called the "Xtream Codes API" details)

Steps

  1. Open your app's login options

On first launch, or from Settings → Add New Playlist/User, look for a "Login with Xtream Codes API" option, distinct from the plain M3U URL option.

  2. Enter the server URL

Enter the exact server URL you were given, including "http://" or "https://" and the port number if one is specified.

  3. Enter your username and password

Type your Xtream Codes username and password exactly as given — these are case-sensitive.

  4. Save and let the app authenticate

Confirm the details and let the app connect. This usually takes a few seconds, longer than a plain M3U load since it's authenticating a session, not just fetching a file.

  5. Confirm your channel list and EPG appear

Once connected, your channels and program guide should populate — Xtream Codes logins typically include EPG data automatically, unlike a bare M3U playlist.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

"Authentication failed" even though details look correct

Double-check for trailing spaces copied along with the username or password, and confirm the server URL's port number if one was specified — a missing port is a common cause of this error.

Troubleshooting

The app connects but shows no EPG data

EPG availability depends on the service providing it via Xtream Codes, not the app itself — if channels load but the guide is empty, that's a data-source issue rather than a setup mistake on your end.
