Before you start
- An Android TV box connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet
- Your playlist URL or Xtream Codes username, password, and server URL
- A USB mouse or the box's remote, depending on model
Steps
Check for Google Play Store access
Look for a Play Store icon on the home screen or in the app drawer. Many Android TV boxes have it; some budget or off-brand models run a stripped Android build without it.
If Play Store is available, install directly
Search for "IPTV Smarters Pro" or "TiviMate" in the Play Store and install as you would on any Android TV device.
If Play Store is unavailable, sideload instead
Install a file manager or a sideloading app like Downloader from whatever app source the box does have, then use it to download and install the player app's APK from its official website.
Open the app and log in
Launch the installed player app, select your login method, and enter your M3U playlist URL or Xtream Codes credentials.
Confirm channels load correctly
Check that your channel list and EPG populate. On lower-powered boxes, give it a few extra seconds on first load — hardware varies significantly across this category.
Troubleshooting
The box freezes or lags with a large channel list
Budget Android TV boxes often have limited RAM. Try IPTV Smarters Pro instead of TiviMate if you're having performance issues, since Smarters Pro's list rendering is generally lighter on older hardware.
Unknown sources / sideloading option is missing entirely
Some heavily locked-down boxes disable sideloading at the firmware level. If your box's settings have no "unknown sources" toggle anywhere, an external streaming device (Fire TV Stick, Chromecast) connected to the same TV is the more reliable path.
