As of the August 22, 2026 snapshot, RokuStream's directory reports 26,693 live feeds and 22,341 distinct live channels across 45 countries, plus 154,980 movies and 28,787 unique series titles (1,048,308 total episodes). Every number on this page comes from one source: a direct import of RokuStream's own channel/VOD list, processed by an importer whose full methodology is below — not an estimate, and not a number carried over from a previous business plan.

"Live feeds" and "distinct live channels" are two different, both-useful counts, and we publish both rather than letting either one stand in for the other. A feed is any individually selectable live stream — so "BBC One HD," "BBC One FHD," and a backup copy of either count as three feeds, because a customer's player app genuinely lists all three as separate entries they can choose between. A distinct channel merges those three back into one — the same underlying channel, counted once. RokuStream's public "22,000+ distinct live channels" figure uses the stricter, deduplicated count (22,341) — the number of actual different channels, not a total inflated by counting quality and backup variants of the same channel separately. The larger feed count (26,693) is published here too, since it's the number that matches what a subscriber's player app actually lists as separate selectable entries.

The "60,000+ movies & series" figure is not close: movies alone (154,980) already clear it, and adding the 28,787 unique series titles brings the combined total to 183,767 — well above the published threshold. That threshold stays a stable, round, and deliberately conservative number rather than being bumped up to match this snapshot exactly — a fixed round number is more honest than a precise-looking figure that would need updating every time the catalog shifts.

Are TMDB titles the same as this inventory? No. The Trending, Popular, and Top Rated rows on RokuStream's homepage show discovery data from The Movie Database (TMDB) — a separate, third-party catalog of what's generally popular, used to help you browse. It is not cross-checked against this channel/VOD inventory. Only the counts on this page — derived directly from RokuStream's own catalog — describe what's actually in the service.

Methodology, in plain terms. Every entry in the source catalog is one of three types, determined by its stream path: a live channel, a movie, or a series episode. Two kinds of source entries are excluded before anything is counted: visual section dividers the source list uses internally (things like "##### FRENCH #####", never a real channel) and literal empty-event placeholders ("NO EVENT", "NO MATCH") that exist as unused slots rather than airing anything. Everything else counts. For live channels, we then group entries that are the same channel at a different quality or on a backup copy — "BBC ONE HD" and "BBC ONE FHD" collapse into one distinct channel — using a normalization step that strips quality labels (SD/HD/FHD/4K/8K/HEVC) and backup markers before comparing names. For series, episodes are grouped into a series title using the source's own "Series Title - S01E02 - Episode Title" naming convention, so a 24-episode season counts as one series title, not 24.

Country, language, and category are derived from patterns already present in the source data — a leading language/region code on the channel name (e.g. "US -", "DE -", "AR -") for country and language, and a keyword match against the channel name for category (a channel with "SPORT" or "ESPN" in its name is tagged Sports, one with "NEWS" or "CNN" is tagged News, and so on). Neither is exact. A code we can't confidently map to a real language or country — either because it's genuinely ambiguous or specific to how the source provider organizes its own list internally — is left as "Unspecified" rather than guessed, which is why Unspecified is one of the largest single buckets in both the country and language tables below. Similarly, most channels don't match any of our category keywords and fall into "General & Entertainment" by default — that bucket is a catch-all, not evidence that RokuStream is mostly one specific kind of content.

Two things worth knowing before you rely on any specific number here. First, 5,609 of the 26,693 live feeds are individually-numbered event or pay-per-view slots (things like a numbered "ESPN PLUS 47" or "F1 TV RACE FEED" entry) whose name and content change with whatever's airing at the time — real, working feeds at the moment of this snapshot, but not stable named channels the way a local news affiliate is. Second, this is a snapshot, not a live feed of itself: names change, channels get added or retired, and a future re-import can move every number on this page. We'd rather publish an honest snapshot with today's date on it than a number that quietly goes stale.
