How We Keep Our Channel List Updated

Reviewed by the RokuStream team ·

A live channel isn't a single fixed thing — the underlying source can change servers, get re-encoded at a different bitrate, or occasionally go dark for a stretch before coming back. None of that is unique to any one provider; it's just the nature of how live streams are sourced and delivered.

When we notice a channel behaving differently, the fix usually happens on our side without requiring you to do anything. If a channel stops working entirely for more than a short window, checking our FAQ or reaching out to support is the fastest way to get a status update.

The most common actual fix on your end, when something looks off, is simply restarting your player app or re-adding your playlist — see our buffering troubleshooting guide if a specific channel or the whole list seems affected.
